Careers - Administrative Specialist

Center of Praise Ministries is a non-denominational church located in midtown Sacramento, California. Our vision is to make disciples of Jesus Christ who WORSHIP, LEARN and SERVE. We are currently seeking a full-time Administrative Specialist to assist in the operations of the Organization.

We are looking for candidates who have a high level of organization, ability to work with minimal supervision, and hold themselves to a high standard of work ethic.

Job Description/Duties:        

  • Assist in some HR duties such as payroll and other personnel assignments such as background screening as needed by the organization
  • Act as a liaison between the organization and 3rd parties such as vendors, event partners and others
  • Assist in event planning and management of church event calendar: duties to include rental of some of church’s facilities
  • Manage special projects as assigned by the Executive Director
  • Supervision of some departmental staff

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as a basic knowledge of databases
  • Working in a Church atmosphere though not required is preferred
  • Some human resources knowledge, specifically payroll, is highly preferred
  • Ability to work with and manage volunteers
  • Experience in event planning and or management is preferred, sales is a plus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent time management is required
