A Prayer Against Fear and Anxiety
Scripture Reading
Psalm 23, II Samuel 22:1-7
Praise and Worship
Wonderful Father, we thank You for peace and protection for our families. We thank You, Lord, for having plans for good and not disaster for us, to give us a future and a hope. Thank You for blessing us with Your perfect peace as we keep our thoughts fixed on You. Thank You for being our strength in times of weakness. You are great and most worthy of praise. You are to be feared above all gods. The earth is Yours and everything in it; the world and all its people belong to You. You laid the earth’s foundation on the seas and built it on the ocean’s depths. You are the King of glory, the Lord strong and mighty. You are the Lord, invincible in battle. You have no equal. We are grateful that when we, Your people, call to You for help, You hear and rescue us out of our troubles.
Praying God’s
Will Almighty Father, You are our light and salvation, so we will not be afraid. You are our fortress, protecting us from danger, so we will not tremble. We will live peacefully and safely in our homes. Lord, we expect that You will continue to put a wall of protection around our families. We confess that when we walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive us and stretch forth Your hand and save us. Lord, You have left Your gift of peace of mind with us, so our hearts will not be afraid. Using the authority given to us by Jesus Christ, we cancel the spirits of fear and anxiety from our families, communities, nation, and world. The name of Jesus is greater than any name on earth, and we command peace to be still!
Praying the Request
Faithful Father, help us all to cast our cares on You during uncertain times. As Christians, remind us to demonstrate our faith by living in ways that bring glory to You. Strengthen and protect those families whose lives have been shattered by sickness, death, or violence, and provide funds for those who may not have adequate resources for their basic needs. Help our children and youth to process their emotions and deliver them from any fear or anxiety. Cause neighbors to help, encourage, and watch out for each other. Please increase the prayer movement throughout the world, and help us all to pray with
boldness and diligence. Lord, pour out Your wisdom, knowledge, and understanding to our leaders and government officials. Touch the hearts of world leaders to look to You for guidance and direction.
Praying for Forgiveness
Holy Spirit, forgive us for all acts of sinfulness, including fear, anxiety, worry, and unbelief. Forgive those who choose not to trust in You. Forgive those of us who are Christians for not sharing Your Gospel with others.
Praying for Protection
Holy Spirit, help us all not to yield to temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Praise and Worship
Eternal Lord, You are the blessed and Sovereign One; the King of kings, and the Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man can see. Yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever and ever. In Jesus’ name, amen.
